Meet Samantha

Welcome!

My name is Samantha Goldrick. I’m an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) and psychosexual therapist. I am passionate about working with people who have experienced complex and traumatic situations to understand the impacts of trauma and move through these experiences towards a full and vibrant life. I am mindfully compassionate, strengths-based, feminist, and affirming in my work, striving to be inclusive and supportive of all folks who are struggling to access their inner resilience. Moving through pain is not simply a matter of strength, it also requires softness, compassion and support.

I have over a decade’s experience working with adults who have experienced trauma of various forms including; sexual and gender-based violence and childhood trauma. Through my work with survivors, I have witnessed the many ways that traumatic situations can impact upon a person’s entire wellbeing, including their mental and physical health and sense of identity.

I believe that the client is the expert in their experiences and -like the song- where you lead I will follow. I believe my role as a therapist is to provide a safe container where the client may be able to not only emotionally regulate but sit with themselves and their experiences and hopefully develop new ways of understanding, doing and being. I am passionate about supporting clients towards healing and empowering them towards being able to achieve their goals.

Working with survivors of relationship-based traumas, I’m committed to helping people understand how trauma impacts all areas of life; including their relationships with themselves and others. As a psychosexual therapist and member of the Society of Australian Sexologists, I integrate this knowledge into the counselling work as appropriate to your goals, providing a holistic approach to the counselling process. I provide pleasure-centred and affirming sex education, and psychosexual counselling to help clients in the pursuit of pleasure and meaningful relationships with others. It’s a much more integrated experience than people realise!

I look forward to working with you soon.
