Counselling Services

Samantha Jayne Counselling offers holistic, trauma-responsive counselling services across Australia for individuals impacted by traumatic experiences, chronic stress and burnout affecting their mental health, wellbeing and relationships.

Whether you are navigating the echoes of past experiences or the weight of recurring stress and burnout, Samantha is ready to support your journey toward greater clarity and confidence.

For many clients, the challenge with responding to their psychological needs isn’t about lack of skill or willpower; rather it’s the invisible friction between the life you’ve built and how you actually feel within it.

You may be highly effective in your career or have numerous achievements to your name, yet internally you may question yourself, feeling ungrounded, isolated, heavy or disconnected from others.

Samantha’s therapeutic style is highly relational, collaborative and client centred; focusing on creating a warm and safe environment where curiosity and self-reflection can be fostered. Those who are interested in finding ways to engage with their nervous system to help address the impacts of ongoing and compounding stress, improve their relationships with others and themselves following rupture or trauma, or are simply seeking resources and strategies that help create more ease in life rather than distress will be well suited to this work.

Depending on your needs, sessions may draw on approaches such as:

  • Cognitive-Based Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Mindfulness and Compassion-Focused Therapy

  • Somatic Therapies

Samantha is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) and Approved Victim Services Counsellor with over a decade’s experience working survivors of relational violence (DV, sexual assault, childhood trauma and neglect). She draws on trauma-focused frameworks and complementary approaches in her practice; tailoring it to suit where the you are at. We look beyond the symptoms of exhaustion to address the prolonged stress and unacknowledged trauma that shape your response to responsibility and pressure

Trauma can affect numerous parts of life including mental health, relationships & intimacy, our sense of self identity, life meaning and overall well-being. No two experiences are the same and while some people may benefit from seeing a counsellor just once to address trauma; other traumas can be more complex, and their impacts can manifest more than once in a lifetime as new triggers arise.

Rather than seeing issues as personal failings or problems to be fixed, I support clients to recognise their brilliant ability to adapt to highly complex situations often without their awareness or choice. Through counselling, my clients are able to expand their view, place their experiences back in the appropriate context and become attuned to how their mind and body responds to stressors; allowing them to make intentional choices about how they want to adapt to changes and respond to challenges in the future.

Regardless of where you may be in your journey, we are ready to walk with you on this journey.
